Wednesday, June 12th

Today, we finalized our presentation power point and made some slight changes. We also prepared for the magic tricks in the presentation. One of them took a fairly long time to practice but we are still not 100% confident. However, we will still try to perform it. Later, we ran through the presentation twice. We took the rubric from our last genius hour project and edited it a little bit to make our rubric for this presentation.

Tuesday, June 11th

Today, we made some changes to our power point, according to the feedback we received from our peers:

  • number of words were reduced
  • pictures added
  • effects added
We also decided to perform one magic trick on each of the types of effects we mentioned in the power point.

Things left to do:
-Rubric
-Prepare and practice the magic tricks/presentation

Monday, June 10th

Today, I sent out our peer review surveys to others. We expected to have the results tomorrow and we will then revise and edit our power point.

Saturday June 8th

Today, we continued to work on and finish our PowerPoint for the presentation. Later, we filmed the two magic tricks, and it was way harder than we expected. In total, we filmed around 110 videos before we were able to capture some usable parts. After 3 hours, we filmed a one minute magic trick.

Things left to do:
-Rubric
-Peer Review
-Decide on what magic tricks to do live in the presentation
-Prepare and practice the magic tricks and the presentation

Friday, June 7th

Today, we designed the peer review questions on survey monkey. We will send it to people when we complete the presentation tomorrow. Also, we decided to film the two magic tricks that were previously mentioned. They were too hard to perfect in time for live performance. Instead, we will perform some other tricks when we are presenting. Here are the questions for the peer review:

Saturday, June 1st

Today, we started researching about our topic. By the end of the day, we got through the history of magic and parts of the different effects. We also decided on two of the magic tricks that we are going to perform. They are the Cardini Change and the Cardini Card Production. These tricks require lots of skill, so we will be continuously practicing these tricks throughout the project.
